We consider the best accommodation to be in and around the Bazaruto Archipelago. Set within the protected Bazaruto National Park, the marine life viewing opportunities are remarkable, particularly from the island of Benguerra. You can be swimming with whale sharks in the morning and watching flamingos in the afternoon. Easily the most accessible area of coastline in Mozambique with daily flights to Johannesburg and the Kruger National Park, the Bazaruto Archipelago makes a very convenient destination for safari & sun holidays in Southern Africa.

Further south there are many wonderful beaches towards Maputo and its neighbouring peninsulas. All with stunning coastlines that are perfect for complete relaxation.

## Time your visit with Mozambique's season

Mozambique's seasons follow and typically Southern African pattern with the dry season running throughout winter and the rains falling during the warmer summer months. That being said, choosing the best time to go is entirely dependant on what you are looking to experience.

As a general rule the months of April-October are dry, with wonderful warm weather, rarely dropping below 20 C and usually around the 30s. November-March the temperatures rise and seasonal showers and thunderstorms are the order of the day.

## When to go

The months of June and October are for many the true peak months as the weather is dry and the days longer and warmer than in July, August and September. However, the temperatures even in the depths of 'winter' are still glorious. Between July and October you also have the chance of seeing the Humpback whales.

In the green summer months the rains typically only fall every few days after the build up of a storm which then breaks to clear the air. Over these months is a great time to visit if you enjoy that tropical climate or are keen on seeing the turtles nesting on the beaches. Further north it is worth being aware of potential cyclones in January and February.
