Dreaming of open plains

With its rolling open plains covered in herds of wildebeest and zebra, this is the land of plenty. Tanzania is a safari lover's dream with so many diverse parks throughout the country. Combine this with the stunning Zanzibar Archipelago and you have the ultimate safari & beach destination.

## One of the most diverse countries in Africa.

From seeing wildebeest sweep majestically across the plains of the Serengeti, to gasping for air amongst glaciers on top of Mount Kilimanjaro, to kicking back on an idyllic beach in Zanzibar. With its world class lodges and ease of getting around, Tanzania should be right at top of your holiday list.

In general, Tanzania’s itineraries are split into a Northern Circuit or a Southern Circuit. While holidays are by no means limited to visiting just one of the regions, we advise you focus one region to make the most of your time.

## Country profile

In the North, the Serengeti, Ngorongoro Crater and Tarangire national parks all offer some of the best big game viewing in Africa. Witnessing the Great Migration of wildebeest and zebra in the Serengeti is one of the nature’s greatest events and occurs in Tanzania from November to July each year. The spectacular Ngorongoro Crater provides fantastic viewing opportunities alongside some of the best lodging in the country.

In Tanzania’s South, the far quieter Ruaha and Nyerere (Selous) reserves provide an ideal destination for a more serious safari. Boasting some outstanding lodging with safari experiences ‘with a difference’, a trip the Southern Circuit will leave you with lasting memories.

For those of you wanting to head into some of the wildest regions left in East Africa, ask us about the little known Western Circuit. The Katavi and Mahale National Parks provide a much more authentic safari experience and also offer the opportunity to see chimpanzee.

A trip to Tanzania wouldn’t be complete without spending a few days unwinding on the tropical spice islands of the Zanzibar Archipelago. With pristine white sands, remarkable sea-life and fascinating history, the islands make Tanzania the ideal Safari & Beach destination.

## Time your visit with Tanzania’s Weather

Apart from the wet months of April and May, Tanzania is a fantastic destination all year round. July to October is peak season and offers fantastic weather. The lack of rain means animals crowd around watering holes.

The Great Migration continues throughout the Serengeti until mid-September. January and February is calving season in the southern Serengeti prompting fantastic predatory hunts. The Green Season (November to March) is a fantastic time to visit to see migratory birds.
