Boutique hotel on a working farm in the Cape Winelands

## Profile

Nestled in the rolling hills of the Western Cape’s lush wine region, this working farm captivates with its impeccable sense of style, contemporary accommodation, culinary delights, reservoir pool, and glass conservatory all within a unique garden setting. It is a place where you want to sit back, relax, and take it all in over a glass of wine and never leave.

## Profile

A bit of shopping, a long walk through the garden with more than 300 kinds of edible plants, a meal at Babel restaurant where every meal is an explosion of taste, a visit to the fromagerie, bakery and charcuterie will leave you enchanted.

Every detail has been carefully considered in an organic manner including the superb in-house spa, free-running chickens, ducks and other farmyard animals. Babylonstoren is really a one of a kind of property, which words fail to do it justice.

## Activities list

At 10am daily, join one of the gardeners for a tour of the extensive working garden. During the tour you are encouraged to pick, taste, smell and touch while walking through the garden.

Join a guided drive to immerse yourself in the farm’s late-afternoon tranquillity and learn about Babylonstoren’s history, the vineyards and orchards, and the fynbos and trees.

The pure, sweet essence of lavender, rosemary and other fragrant plants is abundant all across the farm. Learn about the steam distillation method used to extract essential oils from these plants. Depending on the season, you may harvest lavender or rosemary, specially grown for essential oil.

Join daily tastings of olive oil and balsamic vinegars then head down for a cellar tour before sampling some of Babylonstoren's award-winning wines. The interactive museum, Story of Wine, is a must too.
