Situated on a remote ridge in a quiet corner of Ruaha, this stunning lodge blends in perfectly with its rocky backdrop overlooking the most scenic section of the entire Ruaha River valley.

## Profile

About as comfortable as it is possible to get in such isolation, there are three elegant yet rustic rooms each with a sweeping view across the park. Each room consists of a central airy and spacious tent with thatched roof and raised platform base, open in the day to allow for views and breeze, but closed in the night for safety and complete bug protection.

Adjoining each tent sits a lavish bathroom complete with flushing loo, bathtub and outdoor shower and, on the other side of the tent is your own personal plunge pool for that cooling gratification after your safari activities.

## Profile

Kichaka Zumbua remains open all year round and is expertly run by Andrew Molinaro, 'Moli', and his partner Noelle. Moli is a first-class safari guide with exceptional knowledge that really comes into its own when he leads a walking safari.

The camp acts as a base for Kichaka Wild Expeditions, using the luxury suites in combination with the more simple Kichaka Kidogo fly camping for a complete Ruaha experience.

## Activities list

The Kichaka speciality, the walking safari is the most real and authentic way to experience the bush. Your guide will lead you safely through Ruaha's rugged landscape, on a level playing field with the animals and the thrill of not knowing what maybe hiding behind the next bush.

Comfortable, well-equipped game viewing vehicles get up close and personal with all of Ruaha's most exotic creatures. Essentially a mobile hide, in a vehicle the animals are oblivious to nearby human presence allowing approaches to very close quarters offering great photographic and viewing opportunities.

Armed with a spotlight and high-tech thermal imaging devices, a whole new world opens up as the veil of darkness settles over Ruaha. A chance to spot those nocturnal creatures as they scuttle from their daylight hiding places to take their place under the starry night sky.

With such crystal, clear nights it would be rude to neglect the night skies. The total lack of light pollution ensures pure darkness and breathtaking vistas of the heavens. A good pair of binoculars can unlock wondrous objects in the night sky however there is also a powerful telescope which easily displays the rings of Saturn.
