## Welcome to the third instalment of 'The Month in Photos' where we showcase a small collection of our own favourite photos taken on our travels across Africa.

**This month we continue to explore Toby and James' trip to**[**Zambia's Lower Zambezi National Park**](https://bonamy.co.uk/destinations/zambia)**.**

#### **LEOPARD FEASTS ON A MALE IMPALA:**

On our first afternoon drive from Chiawa Camp we were incredibly lucky to find this female leopard who had just killed this male impala. We found her by listening to the alarm calls of many other animals that were in the area.

While it is always upsetting to see any animal die, this is nature at its most pure.

#### **AN AFTERNOON CANOEING ON THE ZAMBEZI:**

The beauty of the Lower Zambezi is the diversity of activities on offer, from walking to game drives via a myriad of water activities.

#### **ELEPHANT BULL ENJOYS A MORNING DRINK:**

There are few better places to view elephants in Africa than the Lower Zambezi. Here we see an elephant making the most of this shallow lagoon. Later this day he would most likely wander slowly closer to the river for a cooling swim.

#### **SNORTING HIPPOS:**

As we explored the rivers and lagoons often came across these fearsome hippos. They are a fascinating animal to watch, but must be respected.

#### **TRY NOT TO ANNOY MUM:**

Just after this lioness had narrowly missed out on catching a buffalo, her cubs came up to her as if to console her. We're not sure she took it too well...
