Time your visit with Zambia's seasons
Zambia follows the typical season pattern of Southern Africa with lovely long dry weather over the winter months between June and October. The rains in Zambia are often quite substantial and mean that many camps do close between mid-November and March.
Just before and just after the rains there are wonderful shoulder seasons which offer great game viewing at discounted prices.
While many camps do close in November there are a number of areas that actually come into their own over the summer months, including the Liuwa Plain which witnesses a fascinating wildebeest migration.
For guests wishing to spend time in Livingstone and Victoria Falls, the climate is the same as the majority of the country. However, to see the falls at their peak, you would want to visit between May and August. In March and April the waterfall can be flowing with so much power that you might not be able to actually see a huge amount! While in October the falls tend to only flow at a trickle.
