Delta to Desert to Beach

The very best of Botswana and Mozambique

This 14-night itinerary explores the best of Botswana before flying over to Mozambique for 4 nights of barefoot luxury from Benguerra Island.

Combine three vastly contrasting regions of Botswana. Starting with three nights in the private Linyanti Reserve, bordering Chobe National Park, the reserve is particularly known for its large herds of elephant. Following this you'll head deep into the Okavango Delta, to one of the finest camps in one of the finest wildlife destinations for a safari to remember.

After six days on the water and in the bush, it's time for some completely different scenery as you head to the vast desert of the Makgadikgadi Pans. Everything here is different, from the extraordinary Jack's Camp to the activities on offer, it is like nowhere else.

If you can bear to depart Botswana, its then time to fly east to Mozambique and end the trip with an indulgent few days on Benguerra Island.

Days 1 - 4

Linyanti Reserve

Arriving into the Linyanti by light aircraft, your safari will have already started. Keep your eyes peeled for herds of elephant and buffalo meandering through the vast wilderness below you as you come in to land.

Your home for the next three nights will be the beautiful Duma Tau Camp. A watery wonderland favoured by elephants in particular.

During your stay

Safaris from Duma Tau are rewarding and stunningly beautiful in equal measure. Head out on twice daily game drives or take to the water on a boat cruise. Breakfast can be served on a floating pontoon and try you hand at some catch and release fishing.

Days 4-7

Chief's Island, Moremi Wildlife Reserve

A scenic flight will take you across the lagoons and channels of the Okavango Delta to your next location, the pinnacle of luxury, Mombo Camp. One of Botswana's flagship luxury properties, you'll set up camp here for three nights for a truly exceptional safari.

During your stay

Thrilling predator-prey interactions are abound, the big cats are the stars of the show here. Activities from Mombo are purely land based, primarily game drives but also on foot when conditions allow. There's a fabulous photographic hide, a pool, spa and gym before you even start thinking about any extras like a helicopter flight.

Days 7 - 11

Makgadikgadi Pans

Set on the edge of the salt pans under a half dozen desert palm trees, your home for the next few days will be the stately Jack's Camp. Arriving late in the day, enjoy watching the sun go down as you adjust to this new world.

During your stay

Time at Jack's is opportunity to join activities not available anywhere else in Africa. Wake up early to sit with meerkats, spend an afternoon learning about the ancient San culture as you walk with Zu’hoasi Bushmen, zoom across the pans on a quad bike (or horseback), or head out after dark in search of the rare brown hyena and aardvark. Don't forget to leave time to enjoy everything that camp has to offer too!

Days 11 - 15

Benguerra Island

As your time in Botswana comes to a close, you will fly across to Mozambique for the final element of your holiday - Benguerra Island in the Bazaruto Archipelago. An area known for its pristine beaches, turquoise waters and rich marine life.

During your stay

Benguerra Island is so much more than just a beach break.
