Day 1 - 3

Nairobi

Most international flights arrive fairly late into Nairobi, resulting in a mandatory overnight. Now, regardless of flight times, having the ‘excuse’ to stay at the world-famous Giraffe Manor is arguably the best way to ease yourself into a holiday we’ve ever heard of.

As you adjust to the pace of Africa and disconnect from your busy, real world lives, you’ll have plenty of time to enjoy the stunning manor house and its resplendent grounds. While here you will also have the opportunity to explore Nairobi itself, including the wonderful Sheldrick's Elephant Sanctuary.

During your stay

Even though these couple of days are aimed at unwinding and catching up on rest, whatever you do, DO NOT MISS BREAKFAST.

There is nothing quite like sipping on your morning cappuccino while a giraffe pokes his head through the window, bats his bewilderingly long eyelashes at you in the hope that you ‘just might’ offer him a pellet or two.

A quite extraordinary experience!

Days 3 - 7

Maasai Mara

Giraffes fed. Batteries charged. Time to head on safari!

A short flight west and you will quickly descend into one of the most abundant wildlife national parks in Africa - the Maasai Mara.

There are enormous prides of lions, vast coalition of cheetah marauding wildebeest, and leopards draped over every other branch. Whether you’re travelling for the migration or in the quieter seasons, the wildlife viewing in the Maasai Mara is very hard to beat and never ever disappoints.

During your stay

You will be staying at one of the most traditionally luxurious camps in the area - Mara Plains.

Found in the quiet and private Olare Motorogi Conservancy, Mara Plains is, put quite simply, exquisite. Not only are the camp, rooms and service extraordinary, what really impresses us about this camp is the quality of the guides who are as superb as a superb starling. On top of that, all guests are lent professional quality cameras and binoculars during their stay.

Expect your time here to be among the best days you will have ever experienced.

Activities include: Game drives, a chance to spend time with and learn from the Maasai, Hot Air Ballooning (extra cost)

Days 7 - 10

Samburu

To round off this quintessentially Kenyan itinerary there is only one place that springs to mind - Sasaab Lodge, nestled into the hillside overlooking the Samburu National Park.

A glorious flight past the awe-inspiring Mount Kenya and you will arrive in Kenya’s central north. This region of Kenya offers wonderful game viewing, including the chance to see the rare and beautiful reticulated giraffe and grevvy’s zebra.

However, it is more than just wildlife that makes this area interesting. The opportunity to meet and integrate with many of the local tribes, as well as explore the region and its breath-taking landscapes, are what makes the area truly wonderful.

During your stay

The lodge itself is enchanting. Overlooking the dry riverbed and across the barren acacia strewn landscape, the north African style of the lodge feels like a dream desert oasis. The Spa at Sasaab is one of the most spectacular we have ever had the pleasure of visiting, and will help you complete your holiday relaxation in the most splendid way possible.

Activities include: Game drives, camel riding, fly-camping, helicopter flips, spa, quad biking, walks & runs, Samburu market and village visits.

Departure

A short flight back to Nairobi and it will be time to head home.

However, flights across to the Kenyan coast, Zanzibar or even to islands like the Seychelles are very easy to organise if you want that relaxation to never end.
