Day 1 - 2

Entebbe

Landing in the early afternoon at Uganda's international airport, your holiday begins with a lovely and comfortable overnight at one of our trusted local hotels.

Rest up after your flight and acclimatise to your surroundings, your magnificent journey into Uganda's wilderness is about to begin!

DAY 2 - 5

Murchison Falls

This morning you will be transferred to Murchison Falls National Park for three nights of exploration from the wonderful Murchison River Lodge.

Murchison Falls’ incredibly diverse ecosystem is comprised of scenic forest, savanna and riverine landscapes, plus the waterfall itself. It’s home to a wide range of wildlife including elephants, lions, leopards etc, plus a huge number of birds (including the bizarre shoebill) which you will experience on traditional game drives and water based safaris.

During your stay

As well as a walking excursion to the top of the falls themselves, this itinerary also includes chimpanzee trekking in Budongo.

Spending time with both chimpanzees and mountain gorillas on your journey really allows you to appreciate the differences between these two amazing species.

DAY 5 - 7

Queen Elizabeth National Park

After your morning activity from Baker's Lodge, you'll be transferred to the airstrip and flown south west to Queen Elizabeth National Park for the next portion of your journey.

The ecosystem in QENP is quite different to Murchison Falls and it offers a more 'plains' experience, similar to what you would expect to see in the Maasai Mara or Serengeti. You may also be lucky enough to see the park's famous tree climbing lions!

While exploring this national park, you will be staying at the luxurious, but rustic, Ishasha Wilderness Camp, really allowing you to get close and understand this phenomenal part of the world.

DAY 7 - 9

Bwindi Impenetrable Forest

Your journey then continues south west and into the mountains - into the wonderfully named 'Bwindi Impenetrable Forest' to be precise.

After a short transfer into the mountains, you will have time to familiarise yourself with the beautiful Bwindi Lodge before your gorilla trekking the following day.

(we'd suggest sampling the spa menu!)

Gorilla Trekking

There are around 16 habituated mountain gorilla families in Uganda, of which four are in the Bwindi area. This morning you will head out early in your group and trackers to find these majestic animals, and observe them as they go about their day.

You will spend roughly an hour with the group, before heading back to the lodge. While it's incredibly tempting to sit there taking umpteen photos of the gorillas, we highly recommend just taking a few photos, and then simply enjoying the once-in-a-lifetime experience.

DAY 9 - 12

Jinja

Now, after an action-packed first week of your trip trekking, on safari etc, it's time for something completely different!

Flying all the way to the east of this beautiful country, the final 3 nights of your holiday is at Wildwaters lodge, nestled on an island in the River Nile.

Relax, surrounded by rushing water, or, if you are feeling like you need a little bit more excitement to finish off your trip, head out in the river for a canoe or some white water rafting.

Departure

As your fantastic holiday comes to an end, you will be flown from Jinja back to Entebbe to catch your flight home.

If necessary, you could stay overnight somewhere close to the airport to catch an early flight back home too.

You'll be sure to arrive home with incredible stories to tell your loved ones.
