Wild Zambia

A 6-night adventure in the Lower Zambezi

An old-fashioned camping adventure like no other, surrounded by some of Zambia's most beautiful scenery and led by the very best guides.

You'll split your time between two camps along the banks of the Zambezi River, exploring the region by boat, canoe, on foot and on game drives. Wildlife is prolific in this park, large herds of grazers and the predators that follow them are regularly sighted.

Extend this safari by visiting another of Zambia's parks, Kutali and Chula have another sister camp in the Kafue which would only enhance what is already an incredible experience.

Days 1-4

Chula Island Camp

Arriving into the Lower Zambezi National Park, you'll enjoy a short game drive to Chula Island Camp, arriving in time to head out for your first river safari. After an obligatory sundowner, you'll make your way back to camp for a delicious evening meal under the stars. Around the campfire after dinner it will be time to plan the exciting possibilities for the next couple of days with your guide.

During your stay

Get up early in the mornings for a bush walk through the Winterthorn forest in search of huge herds of buffalo and elephant. After a beautiful and energising walk, it will be time to return to camp for lunch followed by a well earned rest enjoying the views across the river.

In the afternoons head-out on canoes down the smaller channels off the river, silently drifting past waterbuck and pods of hippos.

Days 4-7

Kutali Camp

Rise early for a walking safari or game drive through the surrounding bush and up onto Jeki plains where you will find herds of zebra, impala and so much more. Enjoy a bush breakfast served up on the plains.

You'll head back to camp for brunch, followed by a boat cruise up the river to the stunning Kutali Camp.

During your stay

Arise early this morning to canoe down river towards base camp - getting picked up by a game-viewing vehicle to head out on a game drive for the rest of the morning in search of leopards, lions and wild dogs.

For your final afternoon you can choose how you'd like to explore the area, whether it be by boat, foot, game drive or canoe.
