
Botswana’s Makgadikgadi Salt Pans witnesses one of Africa’s most incredible, but much lesser known migrations.
As the rains start to fall in the months of November and December hundreds and thousands of zebra make the migration away from Botswana's drying Okavango Delta towards the pans in search of fresh and nutritious pastures.
Thanks to these grasses and waters, these months often witness the birth of many zebra foals. However, while the pans are often safer than the delta the zebra must still be on the look out for predators, particularly lions and cheetah.
