Day 1

Windhoek

Depending on your arrival time, you may need to overnight at one of the great hotels in the capital before starting your drive west.

Your 4x4 vehicle will be delivered to you, you'll be given a full briefing then be ready to hit the road.

Days 2 - 4

Sossusvlei & Deadvlei

After a restful night in Windhoek you'll begin your epic voyage through Namibia. You'll drive around 4 hours southwest today towards Sesriem, the gateway to Sossusvlei and Deadvlei.

Your home for the next two nights will be Namib Outpost, a lovely lodge with breath-taking views across the otherworldly open plains and desert.

During your stay

As the sun rises, join a guided excursion into the depths of the sand dunes around Sossusvlei, and a visit to the miraculously beautiful Deadvlei pan with its 900 year old trees.

If you have the energy (or inclination) you can climb the biggest dune of them all - Big Daddy. In the afternoon, take a walk though Sesriem Canyon, or head back to the lodge for an afternoon relaxing by the pool.

Days 4 - 6

Swakopmund

Your next stop is the town of Swakopmund for two nights on the dramatic Atlantic coast.

It's an amazing drive across to here, passing through the Tropic of Capricorn, through some incredible gorges while keeping an eye out for wild animals and passing ostrich.

Sandwhich Harbour, Namibia

During your stay

Nestled among dunes and hugging the ice cold Atlantic waters, this town seem incredibly inhospitable to life.

There are however plenty of activities to fill your time such as kayaking with seals, a tour of Sandwich Harbour or a 'Living Desert' tour - a remarkable insight into just how many species can survive this harsh environment.

Days 6 - 8

Damaraland

You continue your journey north from Swakopmund, heading inland leaving the Atlantic in your rearview mirror.

The journey will take you through the mountainous region of Damaraland, vast swathes of semi-barren landscapes broken by dramatic rocky peaks and granite boulders.

Nestled amongst huge boulders, your next stop will be at the gorgeous Camp Kipwe.

Desert-adapted elephant in Damaraland, Namibia

During your stay

On your full day here we have organised for you to head out on a game drive in search of desert-adapted elephant and rhino around the Huab Valley.

The Damara Living Museum, Petrified Forest and the UNESCO rock drawing site at Twyfelfontein are all nearby and warrant a visit too.

Days 8 - 11

Etendeka

Moving further north into Damaraland, you will leave your car at Palmwag Lodge and will be collected by your Etendeka Trails guide to start your multi-day hiking adventure.

Hiking between 5 and 15km per day over your three days, you will be blown away by the scenery of this little hidden gem. Your highly trained hiking guides will let you see the ecosystem through their eyes, introducing you to the amazing array of flora and fauna which inhabits the area.

During your stay

Walking 5km on your first day, you will end up at the impossibly beautiful River Camp where you will sleep under the stars in one of the five 'platforms'. Cooking on an open fire, sharing stories and marvelling at the wondrous night sky are the all on the menu tonight.

Your second day takes you 15km up to Hill Camp. Then an 8km hike down to the main Mountain Camp on your final day tops off a brilliant 3 days of wilderness immersion.

Days 11 - 14

Etosha Heights

Today you will drive further north to Etosha Heights, a huge untouched wilderness area to the west of Etosha National Park.

Your home will be the lovely Safarihoek lodge where you will have three nights being spoilt with great food, and superb safari experiences.

During your stay

Heading out on morning and afternoon game drives, you'll have a great opportunity for some special sightings in this brilliant wilderness area.

Don't forget to visit the hide! There are few better ways to while away an afternoon than sitting with a G&T watching animals come and go.

Days 14 - 15

Okonjima

Drive south today after your morning safari for your final night in Namibia in the Okonjima Nature Reserve.

Famous for it's AfriCat foundation and endangered species, a night here is a wonderful way to conclude your journey around Namibia.

During your stay

We have organised a leopard tracking activity for you today where you will head out in a game vehicle in search of these elusive animals.

It's a fantastic way to see leopard up close, and also learn more about the conservation efforts that are being made to protect them.

Day 15

Departure

As your incredible trip comes to an end, you'll drive back to Windhoek airport, drop off your trusty 4x4 and board your flight back home.
