DAYS 1 - 5

Cape Town

Arriving into Cape Town, either collect a hire car or a private transfer to your hotel in the heart of the city bowl, nestled beneath the imposing Table Mountain.

With a plethora of exceptional restaurants right on your doorstep, the Atlantic Seaboard just down the road and an endless list of things to do, you'll want to hit the ground running.

During your stay

Over the course of four nights, there is plenty of time to see and do everything that Cape Town is famed for. Head out with a private guide to really get under the skin of this vibrant city; whether its the culture and history, the nature, food or coast that appeals to you the most, your guide will eek out secret spots and unique experiences tailored just to you.

Days 5 - 8

Cape Winelands

Just an hour's drive from Cape Town you'll find a completely different landscape that feels a million miles away from the hustle and bustle of the city. The quaint little village of Franschhoek is home to some of South Africa's finest wine producers, most of which throw their doors open to visitors to enjoy tastings, cellar tours or a lazy lunch in the sunshine.

During your stay

The Winelands are a wonderful spot to take your foot off the gas and relax into the holiday spirit. Days here can be whiled away by the pool with a good book, aboard the Wine Tram or with a private guide getting you access to some of the more exclusive wine farms. Take some exercise by cycling or walking through the vineyards, or meandering the pretty streets of the village.

DAYS 8 - 12

Timbavati - Greater Kruger

From Cape Town you'll fly across to Hoedspruit, a tiny airport that acts as the launchpad for your safari in the Timbavati. This private reserve borders the Kruger National Park and is home to the Big Five and countless other animals and birds. A beautiful spot for both first timers and safari aficionados.

During your stay

Morning, afternoon and early evening game drives give ample opportunity to explore the wilds of the Timbavati. The swimming pool at the lodge is a welcome respite between safari activities, although the game viewing doesn't stop when the midday heat lures all sorts of animals to the nearby waterhold and mud bath.

DAY 12

Departure

Depending on your onward travel arrangements, you can usually squeeze in one last game drive before setting off for the airport to start your journey home, fuelled with fantastic memories.
