Days 1-2

Arriving into Mfuwe Airport you'll be transferred straight into the South Luangwa National Park and onto your first afternoon safari.

During your stay

From Mfuwe Lodge you can explore the central region of the park on shared game drives in the morning and afternoon, continuing after sun-down with the use of a spotlight to search for any nocturnal wildlife.

There is a spa and refreshing pool at the lodge for inter-safari activities too.

Days 2-4

Today, your morning safari will take you deep into the park, heading south towards the Kapamba River and your first bushcamp on the edge of an oxbow lagoon.

The walking safari was born in the South Luangwa, so it’s only fitting that many of your outings from here will be on foot with the very finest guides.

During your stay

Set out on superb walking safaris, game drives, night drives and scenic sundowner trips in the surrounding area, or simply settle yourself in a deckchair at camp, and watch the abundance of game that is drawn to the lagoon.

Days 4-6

As you pack up and leave Chindeni, you’ll head in the direction of your next camp on foot.

Your luggage will be transferred by vehicle and will be in camp ready for your arrival, as you take the morning to navigate along the banks of the Luangwa River, arriving in time for lunch before an afternoon safari.

During your stay

Head out on a combination of walking safaris, day and night game drives, and sundowners on the river's edge.

In between outings, find a chair and enjoy the wildlife magnets that are Bilimungwe’s three permanent waterholes.

Days 6-8

Time to head to your final destination of this itinerary!

This third bushcamp is a little way in-land from the main river, yet equally as charming and captivating.

During your stay

Get out into the bush and explore the rich diversity of the surrounding area on a morning walking safari or game drive, and then later in the day, jump into a Land Rover for an afternoon/evening game drive.

When the weather is right, spend siesta time in the Kapamba River right in front of camp, or take a dip in the pool to cool off.

Day 8

Its time to bid farewell to this stunning part of the world as you embark upon a final game drive heading north through the park to reach Mfuwe Airport for your onward flight.
