During your stay

Your days in Cape Town can be as busy as you want them to be. We would always suggest heading up Table Mountain on a clear day - on foot for those who are keen or by cable car for a more relaxed approach. Head out with a private guide to explore Cape Point and the Peninsula, taste your way around the city with a food tour, soak up the incredible history and culture of the city bowl and meander around the V&A Waterfront.

Days 4 - 6

Cederberg

Your hire car will be delivered to your hotel so you can set off out of the city. After a short drive, the landscape will open up in front of you and the views get better and better as you head towards the Cederberg to spend two nights in the wilderness.

During your stay

Staying in the Cederberg is all about being outside. From the lodge you can enjoy nature drives and walks, mountain biking, fabulous birding and jaw dropping star gazing. This region is famed for being the only place in the world that grows Rooibos tea, the tour to visit the farm is an enlightening one. A little further afield, but certainly worthy of a visit is the Sevilla rock art, found among the ancient boulders along a walking trail. Finish up your day of exploring with a relaxing boat cruise on the Clanwilliam dam, a dip in the lake or a spa treatment back at the lodge.

Days 6 - 8

De Hoop Nature Reserve

You'll continue your self-drive adventure today, heading south through the stunning scenery of the Little Karoo to reach the coast. You'll spend the next two nights in the incredibly diverse nature reserve.

During your stay

There's a range of activities to enjoy in the De Hoop Nature Reserve. From guided walks and bird watching to land-based marine safaris and some of South Africa's best whale watching opportunities (July - Nov).

Days 8 - 10

Grootbos Private Nature Reserve

A little further along the coast you'll find yourself in the jaw-dropping fynbos of Grootbos. A pioneering conservation project within the Cape Floral Kingdom, Grootbos is committed to sustainability and eco-friendly practises. It is a fascinating place to spend a couple of days.

During your stay

Nature drives are the highlight here, as you head out with a guide to explore the fynbos and start a journey of learning and discovery about the incredible research being conducted on the reserve. You can also venture down to the beach for a marine safari, on boat cruises, cave exploring, guided walks, mountain biking, the list goes on. It is a world of experiences.

Days 10 - 13

Cape Winelands

Today you'll have one of the most beautiful drives in the region as you head in-land and over the dramatic Franschhoek Pass into the stunning winelands. You'll spend your last three nights at one of our favourite wine farms, where there is so much more than wine.

During your stay

Explore the extensive gardens filled with over 300 different varieties of plants, fruits and vegetables. Head down to the farm, visit the bakery, sample their wines and olive oils, dine in the award-winning restaurant or lounge around the pool. Days at Babylonstoren can be as busy or relaxed as you choose.
